In the stunning landscape of the Pieve di Polenta, the special events dedicated to Giosuè Carducci and the great poet Dante Alighieri are renewed.

We have reached the 109th Carducci Gathering; the centennial event curated by the Accademia dei Benigni, hosted on the churchyard of the ancient Pieve di San Donato in Polenta next to the poet's monument.

"Carducci, the Homeland's Letters and the Foreign Genius"; with Carlo Caruso, speaker, professor at the Department of Philology and Criticism of Ancient and Modern Literature at the University of Siena.

Sabrina Guidi will recite for us, as tradition, the ode "La chiesa di Polenta."

Not to be missed is the Dante Day organized by the Accademia dei Benigni of Bertinoro on the churchyard of the millennial Pieve di San Donato in Polenta, where Dante likely prayed; we will attend the lecture by Angelo Maria Mangini from the University of Bologna, who will tell us about "The Body of Manfredi and other Ghibellines between Hell and Purgatory."

At the end of the gathering, at the former elementary school, to the tolling of the ancient bell of the Polenta Community, a traditional rustic snack will be offered by the Municipality of Bertinoro.

Free entrance. In case of bad weather, the events will be hosted inside the church.
