10:00 PM, Teatro Novelli
Bertinoro celebrates the last day of the year with Denis Campitelli’s performance of "Fat Jazz", a show in Romagnolo dialect based on the poems and stories of Giovanni Nadiani.
Short stories set in today’s Romagna, written by Giovanni Nadiani, are narrated and performed like a jazz solo. A portrayal of a shifting anthropology, told in both Italian and dialect. Middle-aged characters from the Romagnolo countryside, adrift in a tele-commercialized present, where Anglo-Italian is chewed like gum. A world dazzled by empty promises of happiness, steeped in disenchanted resignation. Nadiani, a poet of orality, observed this troubled modernity and narrated it through the lens of bitter, sometimes truly comic irony, as is typical of dialectal language.
Musical performance by Gli Scaricatori:
An enthralling journey through Latin jazz, swing manouche, and gypsy rhythms, concluding in the lively tradition of Romagna’s liscio music and its pioneer, Secondo Casadei.
And to finish: a celebratory toast!
